Michael Kane
Council Member
Dr. Michael Kane is an Assistant Professor
in Yale University's Biostatistics
Department. His research interests are in
scalable statistical machine learning as well
as early-phase clinical trial design. He is
the recipient of the Bill and Melinda Gates
Foundation Round One Challenge Grant and the
ASA's John Chambers Award for Software
Award. His industry collaborators include
AT&T Labs Research, DARPA, and Oracle among
others. Along with serving on the NESS
council, he serves as an Associate Editor for
the Journal of Statistical Software,
Treasurer for the Connecticut Chapter of the
ASA, Past Chair of the Graphics Section of
the ASA, and Member of the R-Consortium's
Distributed Computing Working Group.
