Hon Keung (Tony) Ng
Council Member
Dr. Hon Keung (Tony) Ng is a distinguished statistician,
scholar, and academic leader with more than 24 years of
experience in higher education. A full professor in
Bentley University’s Department of Mathematical Sciences
since 2022, he previously spent two decades at Southern
Methodist University, where he established an international
reputation for his work in statistical methodology,
reliability and lifetime data analysis, statistical
modeling, and applied data science. His research has been
published in leading journals, supported by competitive
grants, and has fostered collaborations across disciplines
and institutions worldwide.
Beyond his scholarly achievements, Dr. Ng has demonstrated
exceptional leadership in both the profession and the
university community. He serves as Co-Editor-in-Chief of
Communications in Statistics–Simulations and Computation
and is an associate editor and editorial board member on
several other statistics journals. At Bentley, he has
contributed extensively through service and governance,
including chairing and serving on multiple department and
university research committees and technology advisory
bodies.
