Yuqian Shen
Deputy Secretary
Yuqian Shen is a Statistical Project Leader at Sanofi,
where she leads and supports statistical strategy for
global regulatory submissions of first-in-class therapies
for severe rare diseases, with approvals achieved across
the US and internationally. She holds a Ph.D. in Statistics
and has contributed to advancing causal inference
methodology and adaptive trial design in rare disease
research, work reflected in peer-reviewed publications,
conference presentations, and a pending patent in
hemophilia treatment.
Beyond her regulatory work, Yuqian has been glad to serve
the broader statistics community. She currently serves as
Co-Chair of the Pharma DS Conference — a flagship NESS
event — for its 2026 and 2027 editions, helping grow a
cross-sector community of statisticians, data scientists,
and AI practitioners spanning pharma, regulatory agencies,
and academia. She also serves as a peer reviewer for
multiple statistical and clinical journals.
