Yuwen Gu

Yuwen Gu is an assistant professor in the Department of Statistics at the University
of Connecticut (UConn). Gu's main research interests include high-dimensional statistical
inference, variable selection, model combination, nonparametric statistics, causal inference,
mixed-type data analysis, and optimization. Gu was the recipient of the Makuch Faculty Fellowship
in 2021 and has received Recognition for Teaching Excellence at UConn for multiple times.
Gu graduated Summa Cum Laude from the University of Science and Technology of
China in 2011 and obtained his PhD in Statistics from the University of Minnesota in 2017.
