The 36th New England Statistics Symposium (NESS) will be hosted by the
Department of Biostatistics and the Department of Mathematics & Statistics at
Boston University (BU) from June 3-6, 2023.
It will be a hybrid conference, with
in-person sessions held at BU Charles River Campus in Boston, MA, and all
sessions broadcast live via Zoom and Whova.
The 2023 NESS symposium will be a multi-day event. Short courses will be offered
on June 3 and 4, and the main conference program will be on June 5 and 6 which
will include keynote talks, invited sessions, and a poster session. In addition
to the keynote talks, there will be a banquet featuring a talk by a prominent
statistician/data scientist, and the Chernoff Lecture will be delivered by the
recipient of the Chernoff Excellence in Statistics Award.
Invited session proposal submissions are OPEN NOW. Submissions are due by
April 7, 2023. You can submit your proposals at

Students are encouraged to participate in paper and poster competitions and a
Statathon data challenge, sponsored by our various industry partners.
