The NextGen Committee of the New England Statistical Society (NESS) is pleased to announce the 2020 NextGen Data Science Day (DSD) Conference.https://nestat.org/nextgen/dsd2020/
NextGen seeks to support the next generation of statisticians and data
scientists. We are excited to introduce you to the world of data science and
statistics! In keeping with our mission, the Data Science Day will
feature two distinguished keynote speakers Dr. Andrew Gelman and Dr. Rebecca Nugent.
Whether you are someone who is trying to understand the field and the
associated opportunities better or you are someone who is determined to get
your dream job, or you are someone who is well versed with the field and is
willing to join us and share some of your thoughts, there is
something for everyone!
This year, DSD will be virtual and will feature several panel discussions
throughout the day. The theme of the morning panels is “Explore your
options”. They will feature experts and professionals from various
fields share their job finding experience and provide guidance on resume
writing and leveraging LinkedIn. In the afternoon, the panel sessions are
geared to help you “Understand the Jobs and their Impact”.
Panelists from academia, government agencies, finance, start-ups,
big-tech, insurance, pharmaceuticals will be there to introduce you
to their world and answer your burning questions!
Our NextGen DSD conference will provide a platform for you to present
your work through poster presentations. Best posters will have a chance to win
prizes! Furthermore, there will be opportunities to meet and interact with
potential employers.
